Outta Hand officially launches on Meta Quest today for $19.99, and it is delightful, lovable and a total blast! Having had the chance to play it in early access, I can say that it exceeded my expectations.
The game takes me back to the classic platformers of my childhood, like Super Mario and Frogger, but with a fresh twist of VR mechanics and physics. You’ll be using your arms to walk, jump, and even fly through the game. Outta Hand skillfully incorporates this VR mechanic that was popularized by titles such as Gorilla Tag and No More Rainbows. The final result is a incredibly fun time.
In Outta Hand, you become one of the Hand-People, lab experiments gifted with the ability to jump incredibly high and leap great distances. You even have the quirky skill of shaking hands from an absurdly long range. But it’s not all fun and games; Dr. Vendelvom has targeted you for termination—of the life-ending variety.
Your objective is clear: navigate through Dr. Vendelvom’s diabolical lab, using your elongated arms to jump, bounce, and punch your way to safety. The game offers 37 levels, multiple mega-boss battles, and an endless mode for those who can’t get enough. With its mix of thrilling movement mechanics and a lighthearted storyline, Outta Hand is sure to keep you entertained for hours on end.
