This Man Wore the Apple Vision Pro to His Wedding – The Bride Didn’t Seem Thrilled

Within the first month of Apple’s Vision Pro coming out, this man surprised his bride by wearing it during their wedding reception and on the dance floor.

Jacob Wright, a software engineer in Utah, is going viral right now not only for wearing the headset at his wedding, but also for the look of what seems like disgust on this bride’s face. The good news is he is did not wear it during the actual ceremony. According to a report by Futurism, Jacob says “I did not wear it in ceremony out of respect to God and to my wife … but after we got out [of the ceremony], we were taking photos — like the bridesmaids and the groomsmen and things — and just jokingly, I was like, ‘Hey, I have my Apple Vision Pro in my backpack.”

His bride Cambree was not too keen on the idea when he first brought it up. “My wife was like, ‘We’re not taking photos in the Vision Pro,” Jacob added. “But I told her it was just for the meme.” Then he proceeded to pull it out of his backpack for a dystopian, yet Instagram-worthy picture.

In recent days, many people on the internet have flocked to comment about how disapproving his bride looks. On the X platform, Rajiv sarcastically writes, “She looks thrilled;” Thomas W. writes, “Congratulations, you and the Apple Vision seem to make a great couple.” However, in a comment to Futurism, Cambree says, “I look pissed in the picture. I wasn’t really mad, though; I just thought it was funny.” So, it seems as if Jacob may have found someone who understands his sense of humor and his appreciation of tech, after all.

Jacob was also asked about his initial interest in the Vision Pro and the reason for his purchase. He told reporters that he bought the headset just two days after its launch, hoping it would enhance his productivity. Unfortunately, while it didn’t meet his productivity expectations, he found the media and entertainment features impressive.

In an interview with SFGate, Jacob talks about using spatial video recording as one of his favorite features. However, Cambree reveals that she is a bit creeped out by the “eyesight” feature that displays his eyes on the headset’s outward facing display. “I try not to look because it’s a little creepy, it’s a little uncanny,” she continued. “When he’s in the Apple Vision Pro, I let him do his thing.”

The Wrights seem to have gotten a bit more publicity from their wedding than most, but they seem to be taking it pretty well. Could this be the beginning of a new trend, in which tech enthusiasts start wearing VR headsets in all sorts of situations? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure; 2024 is off to a crazy but interesting start.
