Triangle Factory’s popular tactical VR shooter, Breachers, has once again expanded with the release of ‘Arctic‘, a brand new map that brings a chilling twist to the game’s strategic gameplay. Available today, this update introduces the second post-launch map to Breachers, providing a fresh, new environment for the Bomb Defusal and Control Point game modes.
Set in a snow-covered landscape, ‘Arctic’ revolves around Photonix, a vital government research facility that has fallen into the hands of the Revolters. The base, which was established following the discovery of a unique cave system rich in crystals, serves as the heart of this new map. These crystals are not just visually striking but are crucial for the Enforcers’ cloaking technology, making the facility a strategic target in the ongoing conflict.
‘Arctic’ is designed to offer a somewhat complex experience spread across three distinct levels. The first floor is a hive of activity where raw crystals are extracted and processed. The second floor features a high-tech laboratory where these crystals are used to develop advanced cloaking gear. The third floor contrasts sharply with the rest of the facility, offering a more relaxed environment where the base’s personnel can unwind.
This update weaves a complex narrative into the map. The Revolters’ occupation of Photonix challenges the militaristic use of the crystals by the government, arguing for their potential to benefit humanity. This ideological battle adds a rich narrative layer to the gameplay, as players choose their side in a conflict with deep-rooted ethical implications.
With the addition of ‘Arctic’, players will find new challenges and strategies to explore in both Bomb Defusal and Control Point modes. The map’s design compels teams to adapt and rethink their tactics, be it infiltrating as Enforcers or defending as Revolters.
Following up on the recent integration of bHaptics support, the release of ‘Arctic’ is just the latest example of Triangle Factory’s dedication to continuously enhancing the Breachers experience. Blending an intriguing narrative, stunning visuals, and strategic depth, ‘Arctic’ is a significant expansion of one of 2023’s most popular VR shooters.
Arctic is available now on Steam VR and Meta Quest devices.
