Since its launch early this year, Drop Dead: The Cabin has quickly become one of the more popular arcade style shooters among Meta Quest gamers. Known for a unique gameplay loop and challenging gameplay, The Cabin is a great way to kill a few monsters while killing some time. Following on October’s launch of Meta Quest 3, developer Soul Assembly wasted no time in quickly adding an awesome mixed reality mode to The Cabin, known as “Home Invasion”.

Drop Dead: The Cabin - Home Invasion Trailer

Now, just months after its premiere, Home Invasion is seeing its first content update. This update, titled “The Leaping Leeches,” introduces a new enemy that adds a physical dimension to the gameplay. Players now face the Leaping Leech, an evil, gross little creature that requires a quick physical reaction to shake off.

But, that’s not all. As is the case with any worthwhile update, The Leaping Leeches update also focuses on enhancing the overall player experience. Players will now experience better anchoring of virtual elements in the real world, scalable windows for improved personalization, and more intuitive room setup instructions. Additionally, new difficulty levels have been added, catering to a wide range of players from beginners to veterans.

If the first year of support for this already solid title is any indication of what’s to come, players should expect for the updates to keep on coming. In fact, Soul Assembly has already announced that as the holiday season approaches, Drop Dead: The Cabin will feature festive updates, like Santa hats, adding a touch of holiday spirit to the monster infested virtual nightmare.

To keep up with Drop Dead: The Cabin’s frequent updates follow Soul Assembly on X and stay tuned to XR Update.
