In a recent in-depth interview, Ana Ribeiro, the creative genius behind the Pixel Ripped series, shared insights into the game’s development, her personal journey, and the challenges and joys of creating a game about game development.

A Journey Through Time and Pixels

Pixel Ripped has always been a unique series in the VR landscape, offering players a nostalgic trip through the history of video games. However, as Ana revealed, the journey was as much personal as it was a reflection of gaming history.

Ana shared, “Every game we have to kind of wait for the launch. There’s a lot of post-launch work… but I want to start our next game where we have all this going on and post-launch.” This highlights the continuous cycle of creation, launch, and reflection that developers undergo, often leading to a deeper understanding of their craft.

The Meta Challenges of Game Development

One of the most intriguing parts of the interview was when Ana discussed the meta challenges of creating a game about game development. She humorously noted, “It’s just crazy to explain. It was the type the tasks we’re doing. It’s just so meta… and now the game is playing with us.” This sentiment resonates with many indie developers who often find themselves immersed in their projects to the point where the lines between reality and the virtual world blur.

    Easter Eggs and Community Involvement

Ana also touched upon the Easter eggs hidden within the game, hinting at the next installment in the series. She expressed her love for the VR community and the joy of involving content creators in the game. “Every game, try to in a way that fits with the world of the game. We would love to put more people, but there was just so much phone calls already,” Ana said, referring to the numerous cameos in the game.

    A Family Affair

Another heartwarming revelation was the involvement of Ana’s family in the game’s development. Her brother was responsible for 3D printing many of the game’s props, including the iconic helmet. “My family does, my brother does all the 3D printing. So the helmet, the laser gun, the arm… it’s a family work thing,” Ana shared with evident pride.

    Looking Ahead

While the Pixel Ripped series has already given players a lot to cherish, Ana’s passion and dedication suggest that the best might still be on the horizon. As she aptly put it, “This was so much fun. Thank you guys. Awesome.”

In conclusion, the interview provided a deep dive into the mind of one of VR’s most innovative developers. Ana Ribeiro’s passion for her craft and her genuine love for the community shine through, making us all eagerly await what she has in store next for the world of VR gaming.
