XREAL Games has just announced the release date for a significant update to their popular VR military shooter, Zero Caliber. The update, well timed for the Halloween season, is set to release on October 19th, bringing an all new zombie mode to the game.
Players have been eagerly awaiting the update since XREAL Games started dropping hints a couple of months ago. The upcoming Zombies Update promises a somewhat different experience to the Zero Caliber base game.
Players will need to start by stocking up on ammo to prepare for the zombie apocalypse. With limited ammunition, every shot counts, and players will need to be strategic in their approach. The update introduces three new maps where players will attempt to survive and escape the relentless undead horde. Players will encounter five different types of zombies: two regular zombies and three “special” types.
While battling the undead, players can look forward to randomized guns with attachments and two new melee weapons. For those who run out of ammo, they’ll have the option to dismember zombies using these melee weapons. Players can either go it alone or team up with a friend in a 2-player co-op mode. XREAL Games also teases certain secrets that are hidden throughout the maps, adding an element of exploration to the already intense combat.
For those who just can’t get enough of this sort of thing, there’s also an option to stay on the map and continuously battle waves of zombies. This mode is great for players who like to test their endurance and chase their own personal records.
Zero Caliber and its Quest version, Zero Caliber: Reloaded, have built up a sizable, dedicated player base over the years, thanks to a realistic combat system and continuous updates. This latest free DLC is sure to add some variety to the game, offering both new and seasoned players a fresh challenge.
